2008 version of Jack London's "Sea Wolf" was on tv the other night. Love Love Love for the seascapes, schooners, and the hybrid sail/steam vessels, they look so awkward. And a little love for the mad captains named Larsen might just heal them up, no?
Anyway...
I want sacque-dress, but I'm afraid of the pleats and the awful lot of fabric to waste if they go wrong.
Soon school starts again and I won't have the time and perhaps the inspiration to sew anything at home.
Plus, my sewing machine FELL OFF THE TABLE while I was sewing a hem of a skirt. GAWD sewing FAIL. I found the missing piece today, so I'm hoping the machine will work again...
But, I know what my next items at school will be, a jacket, a jacket with a lining and trousers. So, I'm thinking why not make a) WWII jacket b) victorian style suit.
I don't know what teachers will say about so much alteration to modern lines, but it's my future professional competense growing here, I'll take the challenge.
Fanwise, I'm watching Torchwood. Strangely, it makes me want to re-watch Hornblower again. "Captain Harkness? So where did you park your boat?"
