I made the pattern drafting from basic slope on my size, with historical references at hand.

I counted I'd need minimum of 1,60cm of fabric to this garment (the jacket). I only had a piece of 116cm. Took some while to adjust the pieces, had to take a little off from the sleeves and make the collar and cuffs from another fabric.

Velvet is one thing to cut and sew x)
First I vacuumed the floor not to get any dog hair to the fabric. After cutting, I had to vacuum the floor not to get any fabric fuzz to the dog.
Had to clean the sewing machine many times during the sewing too. My crappy thing overheats, and that with the flammable fuzz can be dangerous.

I happened to have the perfect buttons ready! They were in an assortment of buttons I found in the flea market :) I hate shopping, but love treasure hunting at fleamarkets and antique stores :D

I still need to sew the decorative buttonholes though. It's meant to be worn open, but I think they'd make a nice finishing touch to have those hand sewn decorations.

(Also, it looks so great I'm thinking of making another one, with modern fabric and sleeves for everyday wear!)
